OH MY!<h2>
Greetings My Crafty Friends!</h2>
I cannot believe how fast the year is flying by. It seems like only yesterday I was planting my spring containers... and now its AUGUST !!<br />
<br />
Time really does fly.<br />
<br />
I wanted to share a couple of cards that I have made over the past few weeks - One for the Birthday of a family member, One just because I wanted to play with the same Stamp Set again and my last and most certainly not least was for a Spectrum Noir Monthly challenge on Facebook...<br />
<br />
So without further Ado! Bring on the cards!<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2o1T7q07fVM/Vb4uBq6loCI/AAAAAAAAAR0/N_e1EIVI2BM/s1600/Masculine%2BTree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2o1T7q07fVM/Vb4uBq6loCI/AAAAAAAAAR0/N_e1EIVI2BM/s400/Masculine%2BTree.jpg" width="300" /></a> My first card to share with you today is a birthday card I made using the Build a Tree stamp set from Fiskars. I inked the squares first using a masking technique and multiple colors of distress ink .<br />
Then stamped the tree trunk from the set and then all the leaves in trio and singles with black archival ink from Ranger. I layered the stamped image on a celery-ish green matt and a white 8.5 x 5.5 card base. A light and bright green bakers twine and small buttons accent the happy birthday sentiment. I did have to cut down some skeleton leaves and then I inked them with distress ink as well.<br />
<br />
The inside has an inked square in similar tones to the outside and a birthday sentiment inside too.. ( I just didn't get a photo of it before it was given to the person who was sending it out... Whoopsie!<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fYCUEIWtDFo/Vb4mykF_x9I/AAAAAAAAAQ4/_xR6DLeIqCE/s1600/Girly%2BTree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fYCUEIWtDFo/Vb4mykF_x9I/AAAAAAAAAQ4/_xR6DLeIqCE/s400/Girly%2BTree.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
The next card on our journey is one that I made because I wanted to play with the stamp set some more , so I stamped the trunk down and randomly stamped a different leaf and some flowers. Then I colored the leaves and flowers with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.. In pinks and Greens -( I didn't write down the Marker numbers for this card, I was just playing around)...after looking at the colored image I thought it just too busy, So I cut the image down the center, I stamped one half with a birthday sentiment and then stamped the other half with this sentiment... The bummer thing was that I bounced the Stamp on the upswing and smeared the sentiment..... but it turned out to be a happy accident and was easily covered up but the same sentiment (unsmeared) with a narrow pink and green matt.. This of course gave me the inspiration to break up the right side panel with pink and green squares instead if a single color. I embossed them with my texture folders and may add a few statically placed rhinestone bling or Sequins to add a little something, But haven't decided for sure.<br />
<br />
I plan on making the other half of this image into a birthday card eventually but for now its in my waiting for inspiration folder.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-f7UQKfUXWyY/Vb4m8KdNqVI/AAAAAAAAARI/C6ghwet_nSM/s1600/Lace%2BSympathy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-f7UQKfUXWyY/Vb4m8KdNqVI/AAAAAAAAARI/C6ghwet_nSM/s320/Lace%2BSympathy.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
And without further ado, My Challenge card.. This is for the Spectrum Noir August 2015 Monthly Challenge - This was an anything goes challenge so I was over the moon that I could create anything that I wanted!!!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.facebook.com/SpectrumNoir?v=app_610925878965605&app_data=referer_override%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fl.facebook.com%252Fl.php%253Fu%253Dhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fa.pgtb.me%25252FcdCK5%2526h%253DrAQEeftrnAQGBCLNts2mXd7hynNibdVHs_rTbZY_E9jLY2A%2526enc%253DAZPZ0va_NK4itml6haMDTEQvJgIo2OTAX1A4O3yqTMNnKEc0R7ogWyySC0rOSJnPLZKtqRjQmPoWKQqucJn22wvnStCM2Me20bFrdzxMH4G7Dr2JKkcsnEP1e8S7vcNs3BjsSGDMftx1z6TeLEdZ3a_fbsIkZm5noAA64ybmtP9m1BNpo3sIIsaZ_GCfuG-mOzUg1qZKQRUmjTh_jW2jV9A8%2526s%253D1">Spectrum Noir August 2015 Challenge</a> <br />
<br />
I have been obsessed with stained glass patterns lately (not sure why) - and this was a great way to practice my color blending !<br />
<br />
I liked using this image because I could work in small sections. Each segment didn't have to be exactly the same as the one next to it because it is the color variances that make the stained glass so beautiful.<br />
<br />
I used the following Spectrum Noir Alcohol marker colors -<br />
Greys/Blueish - BGR1, BGR3 and TB2 <br />
Pinks/Purples - LV3, LV2, PL2, BP2,TB2 , TB3<br />
Greens - DG3, CG2, CG1, CT1, CT2<br />
<br />
There was lots and lots and lots of blending and color over colors because I wasn't satisfied with how it looked. Still not completely satisfied but I was starting to color through the paper (UH OH! That little goof is hidden under the sentiment !)<br />
<br />
I used a smooth navy cardstock and punched out several lacy borders strips and attached them staggered onto white cardstock to make the lace back round then matted it with white and then navy. Its on a white 8.5 x5.5 card base<br />
<br />
The focal image is popped up with pop dots as well as is the sentiment. I hadn't decided what sentiment was going on it until the last minute and it just screamed sympathy card to me ..<br />
<br />
So there you have it ....My work schedule is crazy during the summer but I am excited that I still managed to indulge in crafty time. Looking forward to doing more challenges and projects in the next couple weeks..... FALL is almost here and I cant wait !!!<br />
<br />
Thank you for stopping by and see you soon !<br />
<br />
XOXO Jenn<br />

<br />
Have i been a bad bad blogger or what!!<br />
<br />
I am honestly not sure how I let two years go by without updating my blog. Life certainly can get the better of you sometimes ( I am preaching to the choir with that comment , Am I right ?)<br />
<br />
So on the bright side, Even though i have been neglecting my blog that doesn't mean that I haven't been crafting. Anytime I get stressed out by work or family life, I just clear off my craft table and try something new. As a compromise for not updating my blog as often as I should, I am going to try extra hard to turn over a new (blog) leaf and let everyone know what goes on in the little crafty corner of my world.<br />
<br />
My latest obsession this month is.....<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_pR9kyfriZs/VUAB53nXtLI/AAAAAAAAAOg/BHZPRcz3et0/s1600/IMG_1124.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_pR9kyfriZs/VUAB53nXtLI/AAAAAAAAAOg/BHZPRcz3et0/s1600/IMG_1124.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a><span style="font-size: x-large;">Marbled Paper !!!</span><br />
<br />
I am not sure what I like more, the mess I get to make with the shaving cream or actually being able to use my Ranger ink Sprays and Alcohol inks in more than the "normal" way.<br />
<br />
This technique is super easy and the results are so<br />
beautiful and versatile .<br />
<br />
I will be putting up a picture tutorial and perhaps even making a tutorial for my (also Neglected) Youtube channel but in the mean time here are a couple of cards that I made using this technique as background paper!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Uguvfrc3-mY/VUACSoj82XI/AAAAAAAAAOs/6gJ22WbqBiQ/s1600/IMG_1137.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Uguvfrc3-mY/VUACSoj82XI/AAAAAAAAAOs/6gJ22WbqBiQ/s1600/IMG_1137.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This card was made for the daughter of a coworker who was turning 25. The flowers remind me of fondant flowers that you find on wedding cakes... I just want to pick them off and eat them.... I used Spellbinder dies and Recollection bling flourishes and pearls, and the bling numbers are from Hobby Lobby . The flowers ( IamRoses) and ribbon were dyed to match the paper .<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KehKSaBuAsA/VUACS83NQqI/AAAAAAAAAOw/aTjjR5Pcnzc/s1600/IMG_1128.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KehKSaBuAsA/VUACS83NQqI/AAAAAAAAAOw/aTjjR5Pcnzc/s1600/IMG_1128.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="text-align: center;">The awesome thing about making custom backgrounds for your cards</span><br />
<span style="text-align: center;">is that you also able to use those same colors to dye paper flowers and </span><br />
<span style="text-align: center;">ribbon too !! Its simple - Fill a small (2oz) spritz bottle halfway with rubbing </span><br />
<span style="text-align: center;">alcohol and add several drops of your chosen ink spray (remember the more </span><span style="text-align: center;">ink you use the more vibrant/dark the color will turn out - the reverse is also true. </span><span style="text-align: center;">The less </span><span style="text-align: center;">color you </span><span style="text-align: center;">use the more subtle your colors will be).</span><br />
<span style="text-align: center;"> Once saturated to your satisfaction set them aside or </span><span style="text-align: center;">use a heat tool to dry them.</span><br />
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span>
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QcKsNCQFfMg/VUACSSaeBxI/AAAAAAAAAOo/n0kxWIX8buw/s1600/IMG_1127.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QcKsNCQFfMg/VUACSSaeBxI/AAAAAAAAAOo/n0kxWIX8buw/s1600/IMG_1127.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
When doing this technique I realized that if you use a flat edge to scrape off extra foam, you get drag marks , so i learned to blot the Shaving cream instead of dragging it across the paper. This helps keep the colors and swirls intact. I thought it still looked pretty and kept it. As an added bonus the white shop rags I used to blot look amazing once I rinsed them out.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aGIjqlqg7hM/VUANqMr_nLI/AAAAAAAAAP4/LydMX8VGwIY/s1600/IMG_1187.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aGIjqlqg7hM/VUANqMr_nLI/AAAAAAAAAP4/LydMX8VGwIY/s1600/IMG_1187.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a><span style="text-align: center;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;">Next up is a birthday card for my brother Rick.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"> He just got open water certified and love love loves scuba diving.</span><span style="text-align: center;"> I tried to keep this card as masculine (he turned 34) </span><span style="text-align: center;">as I could given the colors that I used. I used layered mats </span><span style="text-align: center;">and embellished</span><span style="text-align: center;"> with bakers twine and ocean themed buttons instead of my normal ribbon and rhinestones. The focal image was found on the internet and colored with alcohol markers (I used a combination of Spectrum Noir and Copic and Bic Sharpie Markers).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"> The sentiment is a Hero Arts Wood Block stamp ( I think - But I could be wrong ;) )</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are the only two cards that I have made with my marbled background paper so far. I did make some more papers with different color combinations one night when I was bored after work.... you can see them below. I hope you like them as much as I do.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r7_i8YFyl4E/VUAN-694vbI/AAAAAAAAAQY/mpPmgTJCV-w/s1600/10370957_10205386828043017_5714321886238939268_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r7_i8YFyl4E/VUAN-694vbI/AAAAAAAAAQY/mpPmgTJCV-w/s1600/10370957_10205386828043017_5714321886238939268_n.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">When I sprayed these colors I was NOT impressed with how<br />
it looked on the foam. The colors seemed muddy and I almost<br />
rinsed the whole tray off to start from scratch... Boy am I glad I<br />
didn't do that.. I think this is my favorite mix of colors yet.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This paper begs to made into something for Valentines day... Maybe<br />
on a black card base .... We shall see</td></tr>

<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zb0HHLEELpM/VUAN_ScDQPI/AAAAAAAAAQk/xNDTlnwN3HU/s1600/11138604_10205386827683008_4610993138938224742_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zb0HHLEELpM/VUAN_ScDQPI/AAAAAAAAAQk/xNDTlnwN3HU/s1600/11138604_10205386827683008_4610993138938224742_n.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Eventually I got bored with seeing the same patterns each<br />
time i sprayed new colors so I decided to use the handle of a<br />
plastic spoon to mix up the designs and i really like the bigger<br />
swirls that it produced</td></tr>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This is the left overs from the red and black ink after<br />
it was all mixed together into a pinkish color I spritzed on <br />

turned out okay.</td></tr>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">And this is just me playing around I had already rinsed<br />
out the other trays and this one had been sitting untouched<br />
for about two hours... the shaving foam had started to<br />
break down<span style="font-size: 12.8000001907349px;">and become less foam like, I had a couple</span><br />
<span style="font-size: 12.8000001907349px;"> of pieces of cut paper</span><span style="font-size: 12.8000001907349px;">left out so I though why not...</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"> Check back in the next week or so to see the step by step tutorial, and as always feel free to message me with questions or comments.<br /> If you have any tips or trick to share , I would love to hear from you.<br /><br />Keep it crafty!<br /><br />Jenna Lynn</span></td></tr>

<br />
<br />
<br />
This is a paper mache box that I got from the craft store. I used the Graphic 45 Bird Song paper collection and a ornate metal keyhole. The rhinestones are from the dollar bin at the craft store. I used blacksoot distress ink on the edges of the paper to give the box a more used look.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The inside of the box is finished with papers from the same collection. Inside the lid I used some of the stamp focal images and recreated a look I found on the wooden panels I saw at my local chinese buffet . I am pretty pleased how it turned out !<br />

This is a 3D wardrobe I made using K and Co Paper. The venice style lace is the most favorite of all the laces i have in my collection but I like how it turned out. The drawer pulls are made from Bead and silver spacers and i used flat back pearl trim.<br />

Project # 5<br />
<br />
This is a vintage frame that I got from an estate sale.<br />
<br />
I altered it using tissue paper and a combination of Graphic 45 paper collections.The frame was in rough shape when I bought it so I cleaned it up and made it pretty with paper flowers with button centers and gold leaf flourishes.<br />

This is a closer shot of the Altered frame not sitting on the easel . The frame measures roughly 5x6 and I think would look smashing as a wall hanging. The Graphic 45 papers used in this project are from the Romantiqe, Ladies Diary and a peice from Curtain call.<br />

For the flower layers I used the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge and for the leaves and greenery I used Recollections rose leaves and olive color tulle</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bvNdHU-ezUE/UG8QlbgatGI/AAAAAAAAAEg/WkNdUWj3PEg/s1600/Flower+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bvNdHU-ezUE/UG8QlbgatGI/AAAAAAAAAEg/WkNdUWj3PEg/s320/Flower+4.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Daisy one is my Favorite of all the flowers, It is also the biggest, I just like how all the colors came together !, I tinted the leaved with Vintage Photo distress ink to give it that seasonal change of color.</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DzZwlKmYsyU/UG8QouCxfwI/AAAAAAAAAEo/aGIXf8VI63s/s1600/Flower+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DzZwlKmYsyU/UG8QouCxfwI/AAAAAAAAAEo/aGIXf8VI63s/s320/Flower+1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I wasnt sure that the Blue was going to match with the Fall colors, but it gave the collection a touch of Whimsy that is brought out by the use of tulle</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mpW_0lDzpFU/UG8QpEpU5MI/AAAAAAAAAEw/jwLNSMximq4/s1600/Flower2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mpW_0lDzpFU/UG8QpEpU5MI/AAAAAAAAAEw/jwLNSMximq4/s320/Flower2.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
and Of course, I am always , always always a fan of the busy geometric patterns.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />

Here's what I came Up with !!! ( BTW, sorry for what looks like the same picture, I took it once with the over head light on and once without it , couldn't decided which one was better so it put them both !!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I used 5 different I Am Roses products ( Black roses- R21-723, Skeleton leaves - K1-275, Then Orange Flowers started out as white ones, I just dyed them using Ranger color wash sprays in Sunset Orange and Butterscotch) the white Flowers I used were R40-15 - 2 inch, R21-635 - 1.5 inch and R6-15- 1 inch. the little tiny ones on the bottom were dyed too, but I am not sure what the model number is on them because i got them in a rak!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The Moon, Witch and Bat were laser cuts I got from Gina's Designs that i embossed with white and black embossing powders (they come in the Spooky shape set). The poison label came from the the Haunted Estate paper pack by Theresa Collins, Used my EK Success spiderweb border punch and white gel pen for the faux stitching effect . I made up some stickpins with some Halloween colors and used black chiffon ribbon to make the spooky bow. I put Stickles on the Bow and ribbon Tails to match the glitter on the Label.</div>

Yeah, that being said , I have been ( up to this point ) a Terrible blogger LOL..<br />
<br />
So, I am starting anew, Fresh, the slate has been wiped clean.. We are going to try this blog again !...<br />
<br />
So with the fresh slate, I am going to post my most current projects... and going to keep this blog up to date !!!<br />
<br />
This is my September DT Project For Gina's Designs... I was very excited when I got this in my package, I have had my eye on it for months and months and had not had the chance to work with it til now !! And I am sooo glad that I did.. I really like how it turned out. The kit for this project came to me in flat laser cut cutouts, Pieces for the Drawers and the butterfly doors, The walls for the inner box and the front and Back pieces. All pieces were cut out in what seems to be med weight chipboard.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tLHKNJ2U6ls/UG3iR7rhvSI/AAAAAAAAADI/YQ0QqfTL33U/s1600/Sept+DT+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tLHKNJ2U6ls/UG3iR7rhvSI/AAAAAAAAADI/YQ0QqfTL33U/s320/Sept+DT+1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Here is the front view, I papered the whole thing inside and out. I used a K&Co Paper Stack ( I will update the blog with the name of it as soon as I can) The armoire stands about 11 inches tall , 4.5 inches wide and 4 inches deep. I used clear faceted beads and silver spacers for the drawer pulls.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xZQhmb5xXns/UG3iS-6QMnI/AAAAAAAAADY/TOBsJ0Kn13A/s1600/Sept+DT+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xZQhmb5xXns/UG3iS-6QMnI/AAAAAAAAADY/TOBsJ0Kn13A/s320/Sept+DT+3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Side profile: I had the prettiest white venise lace that my dear friend Heather gave me forever ago. I knew I was saving it for something special and i nearly cried when I tool my scissors to it.The lace is accented my flat back pearl trim and small rhinestones.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ydkI2lSiGs4/UG3iTg7__UI/AAAAAAAAADg/-PEVYwUgPok/s1600/Sept+DT+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ydkI2lSiGs4/UG3iTg7__UI/AAAAAAAAADg/-PEVYwUgPok/s320/Sept+DT+4.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Back view : I wanted to make the back of the project as pretty as the sides so i used more of the lace to create a pocket. Flat back pearls trim the pocket and it fits a HUGE tag.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-URgrJ-L8jG8/UG3iUPkJjgI/AAAAAAAAADo/DlUQY4iNPF0/s1600/Sept+DT+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-URgrJ-L8jG8/UG3iUPkJjgI/AAAAAAAAADo/DlUQY4iNPF0/s320/Sept+DT+5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a close up of the lace... isnt it dreamy ! It was actually about an inch wider than what i used, but i saved what i cut off to use for another project.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MKQ5P5GVXcQ/UG3iUjoilOI/AAAAAAAAADw/ulvBNk7wrBc/s1600/Sept+DT+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MKQ5P5GVXcQ/UG3iUjoilOI/AAAAAAAAADw/ulvBNk7wrBc/s320/Sept+DT+6.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Inside View: The inside is fully papered and it is plenty big enough to fit the coin envelope mini that I have mostly done. The door itself is held on with a paper hinge. It was my first attempt at putting together something from flat parts, so I probably used more paper than I needed too.. but over All, I really like how it turned out !!.<br />
<br />
You can get this project and more at www.ginasdesigns.net or www.crafthappens.ning.com<br />
<br />
I hope you liked my project and please feel free to comment if you have any questions.<br />
Happy Crafting<br />

<br />
Edit : 01/10/2012<br />
<br />
Hello Again.. I finally got photos for two of the three projects I worked on during my holiday season.. YAY!!!... So here they are...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-P2UOheV2Vvg/Twx_EmYa8TI/AAAAAAAAACI/S9Qjn4ERi9w/s1600/blogged+Projects+001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-P2UOheV2Vvg/Twx_EmYa8TI/AAAAAAAAACI/S9Qjn4ERi9w/s320/blogged+Projects+001.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> This is a framed layout I did for a coworkers Christmas present... He is Italian and A HUGE Auburn University fan... I wanted something that he could hang at his desk area and not look too feminine.. This is the first time I had used the Alcohol inks.. I think they are the Bees Knees for sure ( Phrase translates to " My Family is my Life")<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2j51Vsc_RRQ/Twx_x3e7BuI/AAAAAAAAACg/uAkAWXY-Aro/s1600/blogged+Projects+003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2j51Vsc_RRQ/Twx_x3e7BuI/AAAAAAAAACg/uAkAWXY-Aro/s320/blogged+Projects+003.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> Martha Stewart All around the page punch, A small Inked inked accent held on with a Blue Brad... Bling of course LOL.. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XDZurg_1Bds/TwyADjxSduI/AAAAAAAAACo/fhkxVYvW9ZA/s1600/blogged+Projects+004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XDZurg_1Bds/TwyADjxSduI/AAAAAAAAACo/fhkxVYvW9ZA/s320/blogged+Projects+004.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> Simple Rosette, Punched one side of the paper and Ten accordian Folded it ...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GpAUWboXKBk/TwyAMBbgkWI/AAAAAAAAADA/_AvSjcxUD0c/s1600/Snowflake+paper+Orn+1.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="191" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GpAUWboXKBk/TwyAMBbgkWI/AAAAAAAAADA/_AvSjcxUD0c/s320/Snowflake+paper+Orn+1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Here is the Ornament My mom Commissioned for a coworker , (Well not so much as commission as asked me to make for her..) Cut out some snowflakes and snowflake shadows on my Cricut machine... Distressed the outside of the ornament to cover up the working edges but forgot to distress the actual snow flake pieces... But she really really liked it !!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8uMCNDu1hag/TwyAF00Ux1I/AAAAAAAAACw/X60cqkz3gso/s1600/Snowflake+Paper+Orn+3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="191" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8uMCNDu1hag/TwyAF00Ux1I/AAAAAAAAACw/X60cqkz3gso/s320/Snowflake+Paper+Orn+3.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div> More Snowflakes and Letters cut with the Cricut machine.. The Card/Ornaments actually opened up.. Lots and lots of Pop dots and Velcro Dots were needed to make it lay right... Oh and did i mention the BLING.... I think I went a little Bling happy ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dgNy352Y7R8/TwyAIH5P5oI/AAAAAAAAAC4/a43mVNdkotc/s1600/Snowflake+Paper+Orn+2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="191" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dgNy352Y7R8/TwyAIH5P5oI/AAAAAAAAAC4/a43mVNdkotc/s320/Snowflake+Paper+Orn+2.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div> So thats what I worked on this Holiday.. I am still missing The Santa Baby layout, Gonna try and see if the boss will bring it in to work for me to snap some photos...<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping By! <br />
<br />
Brightest Blessings !<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is a card I made for The Ribbon Reel challenge blog... The Challenge called for Pink and Polka dots with ribbon or twine. So here is what I have come up with.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AT9SgRTe7Ck/Twsy6ue36RI/AAAAAAAAABA/j4s4xDPBIIU/s1600/vintage+card+003.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AT9SgRTe7Ck/Twsy6ue36RI/AAAAAAAAABA/j4s4xDPBIIU/s320/vintage+card+003.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> This is my first attempt at a challenge, I decided to make a card. I think it turned out pretty, I am planning on sending it to a Friend back home in MN. I hope she likes it..</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> I have originally intended to put this in TWO challenge blogs.. The one for the Ribbon Reel and one for The Shabby Tea Rooms Vintage Boudoir Challenge... But I missed on the color scheme for TSTR ,I have time though, I might still put something together for it...</div><br />
I know this looks like the same picture, but it shows off the Glitter paper, that I adore !! The shapes were Die cuts from my Slice machine.. the Vintage Findings card and Remember This if I remember right.. The Vintage Beauty is mounted on a Baroque style shape and that is up on pop dots. Papers were distressed using the Rubber Stampede dye based ink pad using Fuscia and Brown. And for the buttons, I just snipped off the loop on the back and glued them on.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-e-4pef3qC2Y/TwszCC8CB9I/AAAAAAAAABI/74nV5vgc7eE/s1600/vintage+card+005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-e-4pef3qC2Y/TwszCC8CB9I/AAAAAAAAABI/74nV5vgc7eE/s320/vintage+card+005.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
This picture was taken with my Iphone.. the phone doesn't have a flash, and it was taken in "natural" light, but it just shows how different the colors look in the different lighting. WOW !<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qjaReB4zArQ/Tws1NLWA2II/AAAAAAAAABY/xmMKY587b4o/s1600/159.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qjaReB4zArQ/Tws1NLWA2II/AAAAAAAAABY/xmMKY587b4o/s320/159.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Here is a close up of the beaded pins I made.. A work in progress for sure. I need to find a way to glue the beads without having glue visible... I made the little bow and used a few inches of a Making Memories star trim I got at Big lots...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1hbcfF00ib4/Tws1O92z08I/AAAAAAAAABg/TTNTbcYZask/s1600/tn.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1hbcfF00ib4/Tws1O92z08I/AAAAAAAAABg/TTNTbcYZask/s320/tn.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
I used the Adirondack alcohol ink in cranberry on the Bling Flourish , I think It gives it just a touch more dimension. <br />

Happy NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!.... This has been a very interesting first week of the year here at Jenna's Gems.. Three things happened to make note of... I caught a cold, which in an of its self isn't a GOOD thing.. however it did get me a much needed afternoon early out of work pass, which gave me time to mostly finish my very FIRST MINI ALBUM EVER !!!! So thats my Number 2.... And I say mostly Finish because I still have to make the majority of the tags, and do a couple of mats .... and embellish the heck out of it... and of course put some pictures in it.!..... I am super proud of myself for this mini because, And I will be VERY HONEST... I have a hard time finishing things I start... There, I said it LOL.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Jfsc-id4W7Y/Twx1EGZbk7I/AAAAAAAAABo/NC5QKSf6eOw/s1600/blogged+Projects+010.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Jfsc-id4W7Y/Twx1EGZbk7I/AAAAAAAAABo/NC5QKSf6eOw/s320/blogged+Projects+010.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">(Edit Note : Sorry about the Sideways Photo ... still working out the kinks learning the whole blog thing ) </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This Mini Has Lots... I repeat lots of space for photos and Journaling...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">17 Per Page Assembly, and I have four of them in the book... I guess I better start taking pictures LOL. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V-QjKcKV1JA/Twx1SVaginI/AAAAAAAAABw/ZySXHrX0Cuw/s1600/blogged+Projects+011.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V-QjKcKV1JA/Twx1SVaginI/AAAAAAAAABw/ZySXHrX0Cuw/s320/blogged+Projects+011.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Rounded out the Corners... and Used a Martha Stewart All around the Page punch ( Loops i think it's called)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4aOQpi0RaSA/Twx1fUWOnBI/AAAAAAAAAB4/cITrJAvTTTM/s1600/blogged+Projects+013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4aOQpi0RaSA/Twx1fUWOnBI/AAAAAAAAAB4/cITrJAvTTTM/s320/blogged+Projects+013.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Black and White Recollections Bling from Michaels, Black pleated trim was from Hobby Lobby ( By the yard) and the Sequin trim was from Hobby Lobby also.. I attached buttons to the Front cover spine with coordinating floss colors for a little detail<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-001k9D167Vs/Twx1tKhSUlI/AAAAAAAAACA/cp5pzzdaS_E/s1600/blogged+Projects+007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-001k9D167Vs/Twx1tKhSUlI/AAAAAAAAACA/cp5pzzdaS_E/s320/blogged+Projects+007.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The Mini was done using the Kathy Orta Style of envelope mini album. I learned a lot from doing it .. I followed her YouTube videos, they were super easy to do. Its a great Series and I am Planning on doing a paper bag mini album from her also... I used the Recollections Value Pack Blank card and Envelopes in Black with the Mango Frost Stack From DCWV ( Die Cuts With a View) as a base. I bound the album using Gusset Tabs and A Duck Tape Binding.... Which was kinda Cool because I have always had an interest in book binding anyways... So that was pretty neat to do... ( more of a note to self, Its pretty important to have all your page assemblies lined up Perfectly to each other when attaching your gussets, A Millimeter may not look like a lot but when you put the Binding together it wont stick flush like its supposed to.)....... So that's almost done.. I will work on it throughout the week and I am giving myself until this time next week to have it done.. ( see its nice to set goals for oneself)...<br />
<br />
Now for number 3... I went to Michael's after work to pick up some more of the card and envelope value packs ( 2 for 5$, I bought 2 more packs in black and a pack of both the ivory and White.. SCORE!!!) and as I walk in the front doors I see two carts displayed with merchandise.. the Advertised product was the Slice Cordless design cutter From Making memories... Orig. priced out at 149.99 , marked down to 19.99 (no that's not a typo... 20 Bucks folks... 2.0.$) and Design Cards for that machine were in the Cart Next to it marked at 4.99 per Card...( Again not a type, 5 Bucks).. I approached this display with interest only to Find that all the actual Slice Machines were gone and all that were left were Design Cards... So I walk away and continue my shopping like one does... browsing through the dollar Bins ( now Priced at $1.50 I noticed), Going through the clearance section ( Just to double check there wasn't any thing I needed of course).. Mosey through the ribbon aisle before finally going to the papercrafts section. I grab my envelopes and head to the Tim Holtz stuff ,barley restraining myself from grabbing another set of alcohol inks ( those things are worse than Pokemon.. You got to have them ALL LOL ). I manage to abstain ( I needed to know which ones I did and didn't have already) .... I decide to treat myself by getting a Martha Stewart Deep edge punch (with a coupon of Course) and head for the Check out... $30.00 later and me and my purchases are on the Way out the Door...<br />
<br />
What catches my eye as I am putting my cart Away ??? A single Slice Machine sitting all by its lonesome in the display cart. that had previously been empty... so I pick it up... At this point I have a very general idea that this is a die cutting machine.... Smaller and more portable than My Cricut expression.. perfect it seems for Making Die cuts for mini albums... So I decide to buy it and Four Design Cards... ( Basic Shapes 3, Spook Alley, Remember this and Weddings). All for about 40.00 Bucks... I am elated.. Excited about a new toy and a little Freaked out that I just dropped 70.00 Bucks at Michael's and all I NEEDED was the card sets ..<br />
<br />
So I go on to Hobby Lobby to get my Glue Glider Refill and Paper Bags for the Mini I am planning next... I look at the Slice section at HL.. Those Design Cards are going for 49.99 EACH.... Needless to say I didnt get anything Except for the Glass mat adhesive... I leave HL and decide to go to the OTHER Michaels in Port Orange ( its newer and most times less picked over).. There i find the Tool kit (10.00) the design Card storage case (4.00), three more Design Cards ( Noel, Vintage Findings and Wedding again, Guess Im going to have to return it) and the Hands free kit ( 12.00)... The last item was marked at 39.99 at HL..... So Another fifty bucks out the door and Buyers Remorse starts to creep up... this is why all my new toys are sitting on my kitchen counter still sealed in their boxes with receipts handy... I will more than likely keep everything... It WAS an absurdly great deal... for less than ONE retail priced Cricut cartridge, I got the machine, seven image cards , tool case with tools, storage case and hands free kit... But i am going to sleep on it tonight.. and prolly play with everything tomorrow before going into work LOL...<br />
<br />
That's my weekly update.. I think I am going to try to post a minimum of once a week.. kinda keep anyone who cares to read in the loop as to my Projects and Ideas. In the nearish future I am hoping to post links to Videos on Youtube on here too.. I did a haul video last week but haven't figured out how to upload it to Youtube from my iphone.. I may have to move it my the PC first and Upload from there... we shall see what happens... In the Meantime... Stay Safe and Stay Sane (any way you can!!)<br />

Wow, What can I say. I never thought that I would ever be the type to have a blog.. I have a hard enough time keeping my thoughts in order in my head, let alone on 'Paper'... So welcome to my Creative Journey... My name is Jenna, I'm into crafting.... All types of crafting really, But this blog is going to focus on paper crafting. Scrap-booking, Mini Albums, Card Making.... Etc.. Pretty much anything you can do with paper using a bunch of different techniques... Some I have been doing for years and others I will just be discovering... I am attempting for this to be more than a place to dump my thoughts (not saying that it wont happen occasionally) but I will keep it pretty close to topic... So I appreciate the Patience while I get this Blog up and running.. I hope to post my first project very soon..!!<br />
<br />
Happy Crafting !!<br />
